Important: This tool checks whether a name is “the same as” one already on the register under Schedule 3 of the Company, Limited Liability Partnership and Business Names (Miscellaneous Provisions) Regulations 2015. It is a guide only. Companies House can also refuse a name that is “too like” an existing one, that contains a sensitive word or expression without the required permission, or that is offensive. A registered name does not give you trade mark rights — check the UK trade mark register separately. Only Companies House's decision at incorporation is final.
